Mars® armour plate is available in different hardness grades, developed for ballistic protection for both military and civil use. Its patented chemical composition provides high protection – often exceeding technical requirements – while keeping the weight lower.

Low residual stresses

Thanks to the unique and gentle hardening process, residual stresses are eliminated, which results in plates that do not deform during or after cutting.

Excellent flatness

Flatness is also extremely good – 95% of the plates have a maximum deviation of less than 1.5 mm/m. Residual magnetism is also low, which, combined with good flatness and eliminated residual stresses, provides very good weldability.

Tight tolerances

In addition to Mars plates from quarto production, there are also (up to 10 mm) plates cut from coil production with tight thickness tolerances of +/- 0.2 mm, enabling weight reduction.
