Whistleblowing

Reporting irregularities or misconduct

At Bergs Mekaniska, we want all employees, customers and suppliers at every level to act ethically and in accordance with laws, regulations and our internal guidelines. If you, as an employee, customer or supplier, notice that our organisation, or people within it, are not acting in such a way – but instead in an unacceptable manner – you should raise the alarm (whistleblow). Because it can be difficult to bring up certain unacceptable conditions or incidents, we have guidelines for how to report them.

Irregularities or misconduct are defined as violations of – or actions that conflict with:

  • laws and regulations

  • Bergs Mekaniska’s ethical guidelines and code of conduct

  • generally accepted views on safe or ethical behaviour

Examples include situations that pose a risk to life or health, climate- or environmentally harmful activities, corruption or other financial crime, abuse of power, unsafe working conditions or breaches of personal data security.

As a whistleblower, it is important that you report in the correct way and make sure that what you report is based on facts. In other words, there must be reasonable grounds to raise the alarm, as a baseless accusation can have serious consequences for those involved. If you report in accordance with the above guidelines, you are protected from retaliation by your employer. This protection also applies to anyone who has not yet reported but has clearly expressed the intention to do so.

How is your report handled?

When a report is received, it is handled with strict confidentiality by a specially appointed team within Bergs Mekaniska. The team, which currently consists of the CFO, the Quality & Environmental Manager and the Site Manager, makes an initial assessment to determine whether the report falls within the scope of whistleblowing. An investigation is then initiated if needed. During the investigation, relevant facts are collected and the parties concerned may be contacted – but without disclosing the whistleblower’s identity, if anonymity has been requested.

All cases are carefully documented and followed up until they are closed. When the investigation is complete, appropriate measures will be taken depending on the findings. If you have provided contact details, you will receive confirmation that the case has been received and, as far as possible, information on how it has been handled.

Through the form you can report anonymously or provide your contact details so that we can follow up with you directly. If you wish to provide your contact details, you can do so in the optional text fields.

Thank you for helping to create a safer working environment at Bergs Mekaniska!
