Waterjet cutting – maximum flexibility and precision

At Bergs Mekaniska we offer waterjet cutting of sheet metal and other materials with extreme accuracy – completely without heat-affected zones. Waterjet cutting is an efficient method for processing sensitive or thick materials where laser cutting is not always suitable.

With our modern equipment we can handle advanced contours, tight tolerances and varying material thicknesses – whether it’s single prototypes or series production.

Benefits of waterjet cutting:

  • No heat-affected zone – perfect for sensitive materials

  • High precision and clean cuts

  • Flexible method for many different materials

  • Minimal post-processing required

  • Cutting of both thin and very thick materials

Materials we cut with waterjet:

We waterjet cut, among others:

  • Steel and stainless steel

  • Aluminium

  • Titanium

  • Copper and brass

  • Plastic and composite

  • Rubber, stone, glass and ceramics

Whether you work in the automotive industry, construction, mining or design, waterjet cutting is a reliable solution when precision and material properties are crucial.

Questions and answers about waterjet cutting

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about waterjet cutting at Bergs Mekaniska.

Waterjet cutting is a cutting method where a thin, high-pressure jet of water – often mixed with abrasive – is used to cut through different materials with high precision.

We waterjet cut, among other things, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, plastic, rubber, stone, glass and composite materials. The method works excellently for both soft and hard materials.

Unlike laser cutting, waterjet cutting generates no heat, which makes it ideal for materials that must not be deformed. Waterjet cutting also handles thicker materials.

We can cut material in thicknesses up to 480 mm or more, depending on the material type and tolerance requirements. Contact us for details!

Waterjet cutting is a more environmentally friendly method. It produces no hazardous dust or fumes, and the cutting is done without chemicals or heat.

In many cases, the cut surface is so clean that post-processing is not necessary. If needed, we also provide additional machining.

We have flexible capacity and short lead times. Delivery time depends on material availability and complexity, but we often deliver within a few working days.

Yes, we work directly with CAD files and digital drawings. We can also assist with basic design support before production.
